Entrust / Evidos | Google Workspace Signature Add-ON

G-workplace partnered with Evidos to create a Google Workspace add-on, allowing users to send digital signature requests directly from Google Docs and Gmail. Google Workspace add-on for Evidos (Entrust)

G-workplace collaborated with Evidos (Entrust) to offer their customers the possibility to sign documents through Evidos web portal directly from within Google Workspace. After the add-on was successfully developed, it was published to the Google Workspace Marketplace for worldwide availability.

The challenge

In the Netherlands, Evidos has been the market leader in digital signature and identification solutions since 2008. Through the Evidos web portal it is very simple to sign your documents digital or send your signature requests. Fast, simple and legally binding. But at the time of the collaboration, there was no possibility for Evidos customers using Google Workspace to send out sign requests for the Google Doc documents or Gmail attachments they were working on directly from their client applications.

The solution

G-workplace developed the Google Workspace add-on for Evidos. The add-on was written in Apps Script and uses API calls to communicate with the Evidos web portal. All communication is secured by the Evidos web token each customer has to supply during the one-time setup of the add-on. The add-on offers an extensive flow with several options to use for the specific signing request. Default settings and preferences are stored for each user for new future requests. The add-on enables sending out signing requests to multiple recipients and using different verification methods. After the sign request flow is completed, the customer is presented with a transaction id and a link to directly open the request on the Evidos web portal.

The results

With the Evidos add-on the following results are achieved:

    • Instant sending out of a sign request for the attachment(s) in an opened Gmail message

    • Instant sending out of a sign request for the currently opened Google document

    • Time saved for end-users for no longer having to sign in to the Evidos web portal

    • Higher satisfaction and easy-of-use for end-users using Google Workspace
